Service-Learning Partnerships
MOCHE is a nonprofit organization.
You can be a part of MOCHE even you are not a student or affiliated with the university in any way. We encourage volunteers to join us in archaeological survey and excavation in the Moche Valley, heritage protection efforts, community development projects, and more. Our current project in Ciudad de Dios provides an excellent service-learning opportunity for those interested in rural development and a desire to learn more about hydraulic engineering.

For those interested in community empowerment and entrepreneurial business, there is an opportunity to work with MOCHE Expeditions staff on developing new tours in 2009. In 2007, with financial assistance from The Center for Public Service at Carolina a group worked successfully to establish the program as a community-run endeavor.
