| Cerro Blanco Water Project |
This is a joint venture with Nourish International to complete a project that was started a few years ago. The town of Cerro Blanco has a well constructed water system but they do not have the capacity necessary to provide water to all households throughout the day. MOCHE has started work with the community to construct a cistern and we aim to complete it this summer.

| Clinic Construction |
This year we are happy to build on the efforts of last year's volunteers. The first phase of the health clinic consists of two rooms which are the examination and waiting room. The space of the waiting room will be used for implementing classes primarily targeted to mothers on pre-natal care, post-natal care, nutrition, and prevention of childhood diseases. The first phase has already been completed and we will embark on the second phase of construction in 2012 and 2013. We will be partnering with a number of Nourish International groups, the community of Cerro Blanco, and the local and national government to implement the expansion of the clinic.

| Public Health and Sanitation Program 2012 |
MOCHE is proud to announce our sanitation volunteer program for the coming summer. We will be working in Ciudad de Dios implementing a sustainable sewage system for the town. The sewage system will be a series of toilets that are called VIP composting latrines. Volunteers will work with members of Engineers without Borders and with the community to implement the construction of the sanitation system.

| Sinsicap Service Learning |
During the summer of 2010, Alicia Boswell headed up our first Sinsicap service learning program. This year we will be going back. The students will stay in the town of Simbal, and each day they will travel up the valley to work with the town Collambay. They will work on public health surveys and latrine programs in the town of Collambay. Volunteers wil also work with the local elementary school working on cultural heritage education. During the last two weeks of the program volunteers will work on a local archaeological excavation with program director Alicia.

| Every summer MOCHE is proud to host guest researchers and visiting scholars. We invite you to come work with us in Peru. We base our guest research program in Huanchaco and we have many different options for our volunteers. |
What it means to volunteer |
|
Volunteers are the bread and butter of any non-profit organization and MOCHE is proud to continue to have the support of a wide variety of community members, business professionals and students here in the US. Some of them help with stateside organization and others travel to Peru to get their hands literally dirty in the field. Each unique contribution makes the whole possible.
